Advent and Christmas at Zion

All are welcome this Advent and Christmas at Zion! Mark your calendars for these events:

December 1, 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary – Organ Concert.  As we shift into Advent, we warmly welcome local organist David Myron as he presents a delightful program of various music featuring our newly installed pipe organ.  This event is free.

December 3– Advent begins. During the four weeks of Advent we wait with hope as we pray for the coming of Jesus.  Join us for worship at 9:00 or 11:15 in our newly renovated sanctuary.

Today is also the day our Sunday school children will be returning new, unwrapped gifts for our partners at Christian Assistance Ministry for their Christmas Store. For more information, contact Karen Stein, kstein@zionsa.org.

December 3, 3:00 pm in Church #1 – Service of Hope and Healing. This intimate and historic setting is a perfect place to come together as we pray for God’s healing power.

December 5, 10:30 am – Diamond Plus Luncheon. This lunch is open to people 75 and over and offers a great opportunity for fellowship. For more information about this event, contact Carolyn Pfeiffer, carolynpfeiffer48@gmail.com.

December 9, 3:00 pm in the FLC – Women’s Christmas Tea . Sign up for this event at the table in the Gazebo.

December 9, 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary – Zion’s Chancel Choir leads a special musical worship service which will include congregational singing of well loved Advent and Christmas hymns.

December 10, 9:00 and 11:15 am in the Sacntuary – Second Sunday in Advent.  Zion’s Chancel Choir leads a special musical worship service which will include congregational singing of well loved Advent and Christmas hymns at 9:00 am and 11:15 am.

Make sure you have returned your Angel Tree gifts for children living in poverty in El Cenizo, Texas.

December 15, 7:00 pm in the FLC – Evening Nativity Narrative.  Join us for a world premier of the Christmas story written by Bud Halstead.  While the event is free, we request you bring an unwrapped new toy, packaged undergarments, or non-perishable food for an area food pantry.

December 17, 9:00 and 11:15 am in the Sanctuary – Third Sunday of Advent.  Christmas is coming soon!

December 17, 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary – San Antonio Harp Concert.  This free event will feature beautiful music guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.

December 24, 10:00 am in the Sanctuary – Fourth Sunday of Advent.  We will gather for one worship service for the Fourth Sunday of Advent.

December 24, 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm, 6:00 pm, and 8:00 pm in the Sanctuary – Candlelight Christmas Eve Worship. Hymns, communion, carols, community… All to celebrate Jesus’ birth.

December 31, 10:00 am in the Sanctuary – Lessons and Carols.  Today we will gather for one Sunday morning worship.  During the 12 days of Christmas we will sing beloved Christmas carols and hear the good news of Jesus’ birth this morning.  Make sure to bring your left over Christmas cookies to share after worship!
