As youth gain more independence and influence, we aspire to send them out into the world as disciples. Older middle schoolers youth and high schoolers are invited to serve younger children through Camp Hope, which we launched for one week in 2022. Camp Hope has grown so we now offer two weeks each summer. Camp Hope is a Christian camp with a leadership-development focus. Teenagers lead elementary-age children in Bible, Art/STEM, drama, games and snacks, supervised and trained by a college-aged director.

Throughout the school year, Zion high schoolers served as mentors to elementary school children at our neighborhood partner school, Nichols Elementary. We also hold youth nights twice per month which include dinner, service projects, Bible study, and other activities.

In the summers, Zion youth have gone on service and learning trips to include the ELCA National Youth Gathering, Puerto Rico, Eagle Pass, and locally around San Antonio.
